Ayur Diamond - The Highest of Honours

They say that for a diamond to form, it takes millions of years. The block of coal will have to endure extremely high amounts of pressure in order to make sure that the gem is perfectly formed in order to become a diamond. This is why the Ayur Diamond classification is of great significance.

The Ayur Diamond classification is given to Ayurvedic clinics by the Kerala government, to recognise and honour the finest of Ayurvedic clinics in the state. It is a known fact that Kerala is dotted with several Ayurvedic clinics and retreats. Naturally, when something is found in abundance, the question of assurance of quality arises. But, Ayurveda has become synonymous with Kerala, and so, the government wanted to make necessary steps to ensure that it stays that way. This is why the Kerala government has enlisted several categories that serve as a grading system for individuals to choose the finest Ayurvedic centre in Kerala.

Based on facilities and quality, the Director of Tourism classified the centres as Ayur Silver, Ayur Gold, and Ayur Diamond. Ayur Silver will have the fewest facilities, while Ayur Diamond would have the most. In order to be conferred with the topmost honour, the centres would have to satisfy a slew of criteria. This list below contains the complete but not exhaustive list of criteria that have been itemised below.

A medical facility that provides patients with total isolation as well as excellent hygiene and cleanliness, in addition to having a good ambience and pleasant environment with natural beauty and lush greenery. There should also be a herbal garden and proper parking area.

It should also be in an accessible location and should have all the required facilities like Treatment room, Consultation room, Pharmacy, Herbal Garden, Yoga Hall, Ayurvedic-oriented facilities, treatment and therapy rooms including steam bath and massage tables, equipment and other paraphernalia.

The practitioners should be certified and have a degree in Kerala Ayurvedic treatment and therapies. The trained and certified masseurs, both male and female in the facility should have proper badges and certification.

The medications and oils used for the treatment purpose must be purchased from a trustworthy and well-known company.

The centre should conduct regular awareness camps and wellness campaigns.
